Dr Miriam Altman is a Commissioner on the National Planning Commission. Her first job was at a bakery and then as a waitress where she earned money to pay for her studies. Her advice to young people looking for their first job is to make sure you share what makes you special with potential employers. In addition to good marks, they want to hear about things like community involvement and sporting achievements.
